BYD Delivers 100 12-Meter Pure Electric Buses to Uruguay’s Electric Bus Operator
BYD has delivered 100 pure electric buses to CUTCSA, the largest electric bus operator in Uruguay, from its factory in Qingdao. This delivery ceremony marks another significant milestone for BYD in the international commercial vehicle market and injects new momentum into the development of green transportation in Uruguay.
At the ceremony, CUTCSA highly praised BYD's pure electric buses for their performance, quality, environmental initiatives, and operational effectiveness. CUTCSA expressed its expectation to achieve full electrification of its fleet by 2040 through joint efforts.
The delivered K9UD electric bus, 12 meters long, is a custom product designed for the Uruguayan market. It combines eco-friendliness, energy efficiency, smart technology, safety, and comfort, aiming to provide passengers with a safe, comfortable, and convenient travel experience. This custom bus not only represents BYD’s latest technological achievements but also symbolizes the strong cooperation between the two companies. It is a key step in Uruguay’s journey toward 100% electric public transportation.
To date, BYD's new energy buses have been deployed in several major Latin American countries, including Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Ecuador, and will continue to drive the electrification of public transportation across the region.
