BYD Electric Bus Helps Cool the Earth by 1°C

The 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) was held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, from November 11 to 22, 2024. The conference, themed "Unity in Building a Green World," focused on climate financing issues and called for "boosting ambition and empowering action." As a global leader in new energy and a practitioner of green development, BYD actively participated in this conference to promote the sustainable development of the new energy industry.

On November 13, at the Green Zone Press Center of COP29, BYD signed an electric bus project implementation agreement with the Azerbaijani government. According to the agreement, BYD will establish an advanced commercial vehicle manufacturing base in the Sumgait Industrial Park in the country, with an expected annual production of about 200 electric buses from 2025 to 2028.

During the conference, Cao Shuang, General Manager of BYD Europe Automotive Sales Business Division for the Central Asian region, attended the "China Corner" - "The Path of Green and Low-Carbon Development of China's Automobile Industry" side event and delivered an important speech. Based on BYD's 30 years of innovative practice in the fields of electric vehicles, energy storage, and renewable energy, he shared important experiences in promoting sustainable development.

Over its 30 years of development and transformation, BYD has always adhered to the philosophy of open cooperation, using a complete industrial chain to promote the development of the global green ecosystem and drive the sustainable transformation of the energy system. As of October 2024, BYD's new energy vehicles have been present in 96 countries and regions worldwide, becoming an important force in promoting global green transportation development.

As early as COP26 in 2021, BYD electric buses served as the official shuttle vehicles, providing green travel services for representatives from more than 190 countries and regions. During COP28 in 2023, BYD spoke at the "Belt and Road" Green and Low-Carbon Cases and Practices side event, sharing practical experience in jointly building a sustainable "Belt and Road."
