Luxembourg’s Electric Bus Partnership with Suzhou King Long: A Green Mobility Milestone
Luxembourg’s Minister of the Economy Visits Suzhou King Long
On November 28, 2024, Luxembourg's Minister of the Economy, Lex Delles, led a government delegation to visit Suzhou King Long Higer Bus. The visit coincided with the handover ceremony of a fleet of Higer pure electric buses to Luxembourg. Ms. Bettina Budgen, Luxembourg's Consul General in Shanghai, accompanied the delegation. Lex Delles and his team were warmly received by Chen Dulian, Party Secretary and Chairman of Suzhou King Long, and Jiang Haifeng, General Manager of Overseas Sales.
The delegation toured Suzhou King Long’s showroom, export vehicle prototypes, and its modern bus production lines. They learned about Higer’s development journey, technological innovations, and global market strategies. Minister Delles expressed admiration for Suzhou King Long’s international collaboration with Scania, often referred to as the "King of the Road." He was particularly interested in Higer’s achievements in new energy bus development, application of new materials, future technology trends, and environmental protection efforts.
During the prototype tour, Minister Delles noted the alignment between the philosophy of Luxembourg’s partner company, D, which promotes the concept of "reesen & wuelfillen" (pleasant journeys), and Higer’s mission to deliver safe, comfortable, and eco-friendly vehicles. He commended the shared vision and emphasized Luxembourg’s commitment to green mobility and sustainable development.
In Minister Delles’ presence, the handover ceremony for the batch of pure electric buses destined for Luxembourg was held. At the event, Chairman Chen Dulian presented Minister Delles with a finely crafted Higer bus model, symbolizing the deepening partnership and future cooperation. Jiang Haifeng, General Manager of Overseas Sales, handed over the golden key symbolizing the vehicle delivery to the Luxembourg partner, marking a new chapter for Suzhou King Long in Luxembourg’s public transport sector.
Minister Delles expressed keen interest in the progress of new energy vehicles and looked forward to further collaborations with Higer in areas such as vehicle certification and parts logistics to promote the flourishing development of Luxembourg’s new energy bus industry.
