Higer Electric Buses Delivered to Uruguay | High-Quality Bus Parts Supplier
The delivery ceremony for Suzhou King Long Higer pure electric buses took place in front of the Presidential Palace of Uruguay. This order consists of 100 electric buses, all of which have now been delivered, marking the largest single order of pure electric buses in Uruguay’s history.
Uruguayan President Luis Lacalle Pou personally attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony and carefully inspected the Higer electric buses. He highly praised China’s remarkable achievements in the electric vehicle sector and expressed his hope to further strengthen cooperation between Uruguay and China in the field of clean energy.
As global climate change intensifies, more countries are placing greater emphasis on reducing carbon emissions. Uruguay, the first MERCOSUR member to join the Belt and Road Initiative, is leveraging its abundant electricity resources to accelerate its transition to electric public transportation. It has now become one of the leaders in bus electrification in South America.
Uruguay has a temperate climate, with an annual average temperature of 16.5°C, making it an ideal environment for operating electric buses. The country's largest public transport operator, Group C, currently operates around 1,500 diesel buses across more than 120 urban and intercity routes, transporting approximately 240 million passengers annually, with a total mileage of about 73 million kilometers.
After deciding to transition to new energy buses, Group C conducted real-world tests on electric buses from nearly 20 global brands. Suzhou King Long emerged as the top choice due to its high-quality products, reliable after-sales service, and customized solutions. This secured the company’s position as the supplier for Uruguay’s first and largest batch of pure electric buses, further solidifying its global reputation and opening new opportunities in the new energy bus market.
To better adapt to local operating conditions, meet Uruguayan customer needs, and enhance the passenger experience, Suzhou King Long conducted extensive research and customized this batch of 100 electric buses. The fleet includes both single-deck and double-deck models, with bus lengths exceeding 12 meters.
Notably, even before the delivery, Suzhou King Long’s after-sales team had already arrived in Uruguay to carry out a series of preparatory tasks, ensuring a smooth handover. This included pre-service training for drivers and fleet managers to help them quickly adapt to the operation and management of electric buses. Additionally, Higer’s after-sales personnel will remain stationed locally to provide comprehensive support, including technical assistance and spare parts supply, ensuring the seamless operation of Group C’s first batch of electric buses.
Uruguay's terrain consists mainly of low hills with undulating landscapes. To adapt to these road conditions and ensure driving safety, Higer buses are equipped with chassis lifting functions, chassis armor, and a driver-assistance system for enhanced visibility. The buses have a fully charged range of 250 km, which effectively meets daily operational needs.
Higer’s electric buses have received widespread praise in Uruguay. Drivers have noted that switching from diesel to electric buses has significantly reduced noise levels, improving their working environment. The 360° camera system provides a clear, comprehensive view of the surroundings, while electronic rearview mirrors enhance visibility, even in 60% humidity conditions. Passengers also appreciate the comfort of Higer buses, highlighting the well-balanced seat cushioning and the convenience of onboard USB charging ports for mobile devices.
Suzhou King Long has been present in the Uruguayan market since 2009, establishing itself through strong product performance and reliable after-sales service. The successful acquisition of this large-scale electric bus order is a well-deserved milestone. As 2024 marks the beginning of the second "Golden Decade" of the Belt and Road Initiative, Suzhou King Long will seize this opportunity to introduce more countries to the excellence of Chinese new energy buses, further enhancing the global reputation of "Made in China"!
