BYD India Secures Major Electric Bus Chassis Order

On February 20, 2025, BYD India signed a large-scale order with its Indian partner, Olectra Greentech (OGL), for 2,000 electric bus chassis, including K9, C9, and K7 models. Additionally, based on the 750-unit order signed in August 2024, an extra 50 K7 chassis and 275 K9 chassis were added. This collaboration not only reflects the strong trust between the two companies but also underscores BYD’s leadership and outstanding product capabilities in the public transportation sector.

As of January 31, 2025, a total of 2,330 buses equipped with BYD electric bus chassis are operating across 35 cities in India, capturing a 24% market share. Since the first batch of BYD electric buses entered the Indian market in November 2017, they have accumulated approximately 335,213,184 kilometers in total mileage over the past eight years, with the highest mileage for a single vehicle reaching 678,109 kilometers. BYD’s electric buses have consistently demonstrated stable performance and received widespread recognition in the Indian market.
